Post-Pandemic Office Work: Perceived Challenges and Opportunities for a Sustainable Work Environment

The widespread adoption of remote and hybrid work due to COVID-19 calls for studies that explore the ramifications these scenarios office workers from an occupational health wellbeing perspective. This paper aims identify needs challenges in potential a sustainable future environment. Data collection involved two qualitative with total 53 participants, who represented employees, staff managers, service/facility providers at three Swedish public service organisations (primarily healthcare infrastructure administration). results describe opportunities individual, group, leadership perspectives. main benefits were increased flexibility, autonomy, work-life balance individual performance, while major social aspects such as lost comradery isolation. Hybrid was perceived provide best both worlds work, given employees managers develop new skills competencies adjust ways working. To achieve expected organisational employers are support flexibility re-design physical digital workplaces fit diverse employees.
